La Pilarica's 48-hectare water dam: a long-term investment in resilience

After months of continuous earthworks, we have finally completed the water reservoir we have been building at La Pilarica to irrigate our crop-pasture rotation system.

The dam spans 48 hectares, draws from a 469-hectare catchment area, and stores up to 878,000 m³ of water to give us greater control over water availability, a critical advantage in a region facing increasingly erratic rainfall patterns.

With the reservoir in place, we reduce our exposure to weather risk and gain the ability to plan and operate more reliably. This makes our farm more resilient and economically viable.

We now turn our eyes to the sky and hope the rain comes soon.
